The Hotel and Restaurant Food is of a High Quality
Chris is a restauranteur of some years experience having previously run two well known restaurants in his native Pembrokeshire. Food is at the heart of staying at Hafod. Chris draws inspiration from around the globe and, wherever possible, fuses those ideas with with the best of local ingredients, to produce a robust cuisine full of forthright flavours.
Above all, he believes that the primary purpose of food is to satisfy the customer, not the ego of the chef. As an added bonus the restaurant is a gastronomic haven for those on a Gluten free diet as Chris is on one and the same!
The restaurant is open to non-residents, although those looking for accommodation in the area will find the all inclusive dinner, bed and breakfast rates to be good value (see the accommodation page for tariffs). |

The dinner menu changes daily, so guests are not confronted with working their way through the same menu, yet offers choices on each course. Everything is prepared inhouse, even down to the bread used for breakfast.
Breakfast includes speciality cured bacon, local sausages, and free range eggs (including our own duck eggs). Smoked haddock, kippers and smoked salmon are also available. All marmalades are homemade (2 kinds) and homemade sourdough breads are available.
There is an impressive selection of wines including:
- Les Vignes Retrouvees, VDQS Cotes de Sant Mont, from the renowned Producteurs Plaimont cooperative. 2001.
- Vina Gravania Bianco Crianza, Rioja, Spain. 1993
